Velichko Velikov already recommended himself as an author of experimental furniture. This time he presented the merry positive chair called Lastika chair which producer became the famous Italian company LAGO.

According to the words of the author, light and “airy” Lastika chair looks like the flower – colorful chamomile which happy owner will be hold with forty firm elastics fulfilling the function of sitting and creating the effect of spring.

In spite of outward fragility and seeming unreliability of colorful elastics stretched on the firm base this unique structure is very steady and promises the long exploiting term. The guarantee of such characteristics is the company LAGO just the name of which says about the high quality and fill with confidence.

Merry and comfortable armchair will become the wonderful supplement of the modern interior of any placement. Graduated from the university in Russe (Bulgaria) in 2000 Velichko Velikov got the MA in industrial design, then he worked with several leading European producers and headed the project department of company NIKROM Ltd – the biggest producer of furniture in Bulgaria. At the present time the talented designer lives and works in London (Great Britain) where he reads lectures about design and works out the creative concepts for European furniture market.

In Milan this week Italian brand Moroso launches this set of low tables by Japanese designers Nendo, where a mirrored lower shelf reveals the patterned underside of the table top. Called Pond, the clusters of mirrored surfaces are each supported on three thin metal legs.

Pond illustrates the seductive mystery of an image reflected in a mirror. The idea of a pond as seen in the table’s round shape and in its inspiration which reveals the silence of Nature, the hush of the woods and the trees in bloom reflected inside it.

The table has a simple structure: three rods raise and separate two tabletops, one decorated and upside down, the other a mirror that expands the table’s height and depth. But the idea behind this design conceals a particularly fascinating design study.

In fact Pond embodies the dualism of right and reverses as a symbol of nature/earth (light and dark) and of reflected images (which reproduce but are also projected) within a reciprocal relationship involving an enigmatic vision of space and an aesthetic recreated in the decoration.

Available in painted steel, the Pond low table is the perfect addition to any interior.

Since 1952 MOROSO has been designing its sofas, armchairs and accessories with well-known designers such as Ron Arad, Carlo Colombo, Enrico Franzolini, Marc Newson, Toshiyuki Kita and Patricia Urquiola. MOROSO has been constructing its sofas and armchairs aiming at top quality.

Czech designer Maxim Velčovský presents cabinet comprising stacked wooden boxes at Křehký Gallery in Prague. Called Story Cabinet, the piece was designed to display items from the gallery’s collection. It has turned wooden legs made from the profiles of the two gallery founders Jiří Macek and Jana Zielinski.

“Every cupboard is a storeroom in fact,” explains Velčovský. His cupboard enables the user to create a unique system for storing stuff without getting lost in it thanks to a classical frame with a ledge and a socle. Its legs are shaped along the profiles of gallerists Jana Zielinski and Jiří Macek and hand-made by Czech design legend Antonín Hepnar. The cupboard itself was produced by Process.

“I conceived the cupboard for Křehký as a small storage unit where individual limited editions, made exclusively for the Křehký collection, would be displayed. With regard to the minimalist design of the entire space by Olgoj Chorchoj, I wanted to introduce a piece of furniture that would refer to old cupboards and consist of basic geometrical modules.

The feeling of the cupboard should be evoked by the socle and the upper ledge between which the boxes will be piled. Every cupboard is, in my opinion, household storage where objects are placed for various reasons.

Thus, I chose a configuration of boxes in which each object can find its own territory, its own world. Apart from a profiled ledge, the shape of the legs also represents a specific feature of a cupboard.

Though coffee is a morning drink but somebody will not refuse from the cup of coffee at night. Those who are going to work all the night or such coffee lovers like designer Sunhan Kwon from South Korea who devoted to this wonderful drink his recent creation, – chair “Coffee Chair”.

We think that there is no need to explain even to the most inattentive readers why the chair is called exactly this way, – everything is very clear. “Coffee Chair” makes you think of a cup of fragrant coffee. This unique design arouses the imagination that you drink a cup of coffee in a nice cafe. It is a storytelling design chair. If you look in front of the chair, it really seems that there is a cup and a saucer in front of us. Only you cannot pour coffee inside and put it on the table.

“Coffee Chairs” are farsightedly painted in three colors. Probably black is espresso, brown – cappuccino, and white symbolizes latte. As they say, drinks for any taste, – stronger, weaker and for gourmets. By the way the handle here plays not only the aesthetic function that it looks more alike but also practical. On this handle the bag or outwear can be hanged and it will not fall on the floor for sure. Coffee Chair” satisfies you both aspects, functional and decorative design, and certainly differentiates with other chairs, therefore can be used in cafes, restaurants, design companies and etc.

Designed by Gijs Papavoine for Dutch manufacturer Montis, the Scene XXL chair fits together with others to create a modular seating system. The design of placement of negotiation room should correspond with the style of company. Small negotiation rooms of close types should work solid – the dark rich colors of walls, expensive sorts of parquet, leather upholstery of furniture is appropriate here. The hand-made carpet is an irreplaceable element of design of not only ethnic interior but also any other. That can be the Persian one with the refined floristic ornament or Turkmen carpet with geometrical drawing – it can visually unite absolutely different elements of furniture and décor, harmonize them, give new energy to the room.

If you are going to decorate your house with the eastern hand-made carpet you should keep several rules.

The carpet of medium size – from 1х1,5 m till 2х3 m can be an independent element of interior of the room, mark its determined zone. The small table can stand on it.

The big carpet which size is from 2,5х3 m and more is already able to form the view of room completely.

It is possible to have more than one carpet in the living room. It is best of all to place the carpet of middle size in front of the sofa or under the coffee-table. About 20-30 cm of free floor can stay between the carpet and walls.

If you are going to put a big carpet in the dining room, choose its size that all four legs of the chairs are on it. The Afghan or Turkmen carpets with character geometrical drawing or rhythmic vegetable ornament are ideal for this room to avoid falling out the part of image because of its placing under the furniture.

In hall the maximally firm carpet is desirable. It is best of all to put here the carpet with clear wool pile (without silk) in the cotton base (it is firm and does not loose shape).

It is not recommended to put a big carpet in the bedroom. The most part of it will obligatory turn out under the bed. It will not gladden your eye and nobody will go on him. The good decision is the carpet in the bottom of the bed and two more on its both sides.

Sofa-bed “eurobook” is the most perfect folding mechanisms and the simplest and the hardest. The sitting of sofa is necessary to roll out completely and pull down the back to the free place. The most economic is the corner sofa-bed called “dolphin” which is also concerned to roll-out sofas. The shorter part of sleeping place is rolled out from the longer one – it is just necessary to pull it and lift a little.

The idea of “round table” will always be relevant. The appearance and ergonomic of this significant element of office furniture undoubtedly have the ponderable influence on the atmosphere of business negotiations or in-corporative meetings. The designers of Berlin studio KINZO presented the huge “cosmic” table which according to their idea excludes discomfort because of lack of place under the table and awkward situations when the sitting people touch each other with the legs.

According to the words of authors this effective table worked out by them for the company Ernst & Young is associated as minimum with the cosmic or deep-water ship on the underwater wings. It forms the ‘epic” atmosphere for the “epic” meeting. The table called One Gigantic Talking Table gives so much place for legs that till fifteen persons can make themselves comfortable and imposing at it. Its perfect design dictates the ultramodern orientation of development of interior of the whole office and as a consequence the corporative style and style of life as a whole.
